iCON Innovator Award (University Level)
We need your help to identify deserving nominees in our community. Please consider nominating an
outstanding leader in your own network. Read over the criteria below. All nominations are private.
The intent of the iCON Innovator Award is to recognize an active researcher/scientist within the ranks
of life sciences education who is acknowledged by his or her peers as a leader in the contemporary
teaching of and scholarship in biotechnology and its related sciences. The award also recognizes those
scientists who demonstrate leadership potential at the frontier of knowledge in the life sciences and
conduct research that is anticipated to enhance economic development in the State of Illinois.
Selection Criteria:
(Recipient has exhibited one or more of the following over a significant period of time.)
- A history of excellence, innovation and leadership in research and commercial pursuits within the
community. - Promotes the development of future researchers.
- A demonstrated a commitment to and passion for the mission and objectives of life sciences /
biotechnology education. - A track record of effectiveness in –
- professional and/or graduate instruction;
- curriculum development and innovation;
- honors, awards and peer recognition for excellence in teaching related to biotechnology.
- An individual who through his/her efforts inspires the passion and imagination of students, as measured by student’ accomplishments.
