Chicago Innovation Mentors
Chicago Innovation Mentors (CIM) supports university-based and local healthcare and complex science-based technology innovation ventures commercialization in the Chicago area through the use of mentor teams by recruiting accomplished executives and entrepreneurs to volunteer to team mentor early-stage innovators. CIM supports opportunities at a wide range of stages, from earliest idea to company formation. Launched in November 2010, CIM has grown to more than 175 mentors who have mentored over 125 venture teams, a third of which have graduated from CIM.
Together, CIM and PROPEL are the critical, go-to resources for Chicagoland life sciences entrepreneurs.
- CIM provides team-based mentoring to pre-formation stage and early-stage entrepreneurs commercializing healthcare and other complex science-based technologies. PROPEL, as a Founder and Sponsoring Institution, brings new mentees into CIM.
- PROPEL manages a group of programs for early-stage life sciences and healthcare companies/entrepreneurs, which includes CIM as the team-based mentoring component. CIM mentees have access to select PROPEL programs and the broader iBIO community
